Through our message "happy with Down syndrome" we want to tell everyone that Down syndrome is not a sentence for an unhappy life, but an opportunity for mutual improvement and development, a lot of love and happy moments, but also active engagement.
To support, motivate and inspire parents and professionals so that children with Down syndrome can receive the necessary support in the family and the specialized help they need for better development and quality of life.
Our boldest dream is for every child with Down syndrome to be able to reach their full potential. We want through our qualities, skills and experience to contribute to the children with Down syndrome to have a happy and fulfilling life here in Bulgaria.
Being a parent of a child with Down syndrome has its own specifics. It is not easy, but it is not impossible to raise and educate your child with Down syndrome so that he develops optimally and is a full member of the family. It takes clear structure, perseverance, love and a little more patience. And faith that he can.
Children with Down syndrome have specific features characteristic of the syndrome, but also a bright personality that distinguishes them from each other. That is why it is important to approach each child personally, taking into account both his strengths and weaknesses. To work without staring only at what he cannot do, but with an emphasis on what he can do.
This is our campaign for a real (and not only by laws, regulations and documents) inclusive education for children with Down syndrome in Bulgaria. A campaign aimed at principals, educators, parents and children.
