WHAT PEOPLE WITH DOWN SYNDROME CAN DO
We share photos from the opening of today’s exhibition “Crafts with a Future” 2025 of products made by children from the Craft School in Plovdiv, implemented by the Regional Craft Chamber Plovdiv.
We thank the Plovdiv Craft Chamber for giving a chance and including in this project ten children and young people with Down syndrome, who created under the expert guidance of masters in various crafts: icon painting, braiding, wood carving, weaving, drawing, felting, cooking.
We are proud of our heroes, who did excellently and created their own products during the school. It was a joy to watch them discover and point out their things among others, how they pose with shining eyes and proudly show the diplomas certifying their successful completion of the Craft School. ❤
And finally, I send my message that I sent to everyone at the official opening of the exhibition tonight:
❤ The question that many people ask is “Can people with Down syndrome DO?”. However, I firmly believe that it should be rephrased to “WHAT can people with Down syndrome do?” And to give them the opportunity to try different activities, to support and encourage them to seek and find their calling, to contribute to society, to feel and be fulfilled and happy. ❤
