Nadezhda Todorova in an interview with journalist Dora Bashakova from Radio Plovdiv / Radio Plovdiv on BNR – Bulgarian National Radio. Thank you ❤
“This is a good example with which we start. But, this does not mean that every town and village in Bulgaria cannot follow this example. On the contrary, we even welcome and will support such clubs, centers, wherever there is a desire for it. It is very important to us that children with Down syndrome, as by children we also mean grown-ups, all people with the syndrome, have the opportunity to be both with their own kind and with other children who are typically developing. That’s what’s unique about us, that’s why we say it’s the first club of its kind.
These kids are a minority, that’s a fact. Everywhere we go, the environment is not always, I don’t want to sound harsh, but it is not prepared, not ready to welcome these children. We want this to be an environment in which children with Down syndrome feel at home, but also normal children who will also come and have fun, so that it will be as pleasant and interesting for them as well.” shares Nadezhda Todorova from the “Up with Down” Foundation.
In the show “Free Entry”, Nadezhda Todorova tells more about the initiative:
